I am a WA certified Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience. I am a psychoanalytic candidate at SPSI (Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute) and earned my Master's in Clinical Social Work from Smith College, School for Social Work in 2012. After working in the field for several years I continued my education with the Center For British Object Relations (COR) case conference class and through SPSI where I graduated from the Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program.
I have practiced in outpatient community mental health settings specifically with Latinx communities and the LGBTQ community. I am also an approved supervisor and have provided supervision to social workers pursuing licensure for the last three years.
My approach to treatment is informed by social work values and psychoanalytic theory. This combination recognizes how the external environment, including systems of oppression and privilege and the intrapsychic world interact with each other to shape the ways each person learns to cope with and navigate life’s challenges. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an essential and powerful element in facilitating internal and inter-relational change and I invite ongoing dialogue about how the process of therapy is going. Together we will build on your inherent resilience, working collaboratively to uncover and alleviate suffering. We will consider the elements of work, love and play in your life and what aspect of these may need to be brought into balance. I am empathic, playful and direct in my care and look forward to hearing from you.
